Knitted polyester is the industry-standard flag fabric, and for good reason: at 117gsm it's light enough to fly and catch the wind, durable enough to keep doing it, and dye-sublimation printed so colour is vivid and sharp with 80–90% show-through to the reverse. Printed in-house in one continuous piece up to 3000mm wide and finished on industrial sewing machines, it suits flags and flag products indoors and out. Artwork made easy

Every order includes a free artwork check by a real person — you don't need to ask. If we spot a problem, we'll contact you before anything gets printed.

Supply a CMYK PDF with fonts outlined, using the template for your flag or product. Because this fabric is dye-sublimation printed at large sizes, resolution requirements scale with the print size — if your graphic is heading towards the 3-metre end, send it over and we'll confirm it holds up. Bear in mind the 80–90% show-through: on a single-sided flag your design appears mirrored on the reverse, so centre text and avoid anything that only reads one way round. Keep key content clear of the sewn edges. Send your file and we'll check it before printing.

What is knitted polyester used for? ›

How is it printed? ›
By dye-sublimation: special inks are applied and then heat-fixed into the fabric fibres, rather than sitting on the surface. That's what gives the vivid colour, the strong show-through, and a finish that's both scuff-resistant and washable.
How wide can it be printed? ›
Up to approximately 3000mm in one continuous piece, depending on the finish, from a 3200mm roll. There's a standard-pricing limit of 3 metres on the shortest edge; anything larger is available with a bespoke quotation — tell us the size and we'll price it.
Can it be washed? ›
Yes — because the ink is heat-fixed into the fibres, the fabric is machine washable, so dust and weather don't retire a flag between outings. Please follow the specific wash guidance on your flag's product page, and if you're unsure, ask us and we'll confirm the right setting for your item.
How long does a flag last? ›
For a regularly flown flag, a realistic maximum lifespan is around six months, depending on weather and hours in use. Take it down in winds above Beaufort Scale 4 (13–18mph), keep it clear of anything it could snag on, and position it away from heavy pollution where white areas can grey over time.
What thread colour is used? ›
Black or white — our sewists choose whichever best complements your graphic, so the stitching sits discreetly against your design rather than standing out.
