That makes them easy to store until you need them and quick to build on the day. They are made to take A4, A5 or DL on 350gsm silk board, printed on one side or both, with optional gloss or matt lamination and business card slots. A real person checks your artwork before anything is printed.

Artwork made easy

Every order includes a free artwork check by a real person — you don't need to ask. If we spot a problem, we'll contact you before anything gets printed.

A folder is a shaped die-cut rather than a flat sheet, so your artwork has to be built to the outline of the forme you choose, working around the fold lines and the pocket. Supply a CMYK PDF at 300dpi with 3mm bleed, a 3mm safe zone and fonts outlined. Send two files: one with the forme outline overlaid on your artwork so we can check alignment, and one clean version without it, which is the one we proof and print. Keep the interlocking tabs in mind as well as the folds. The folder is made slightly larger than the paper it holds, so a DL folder is bigger than DL: design to the dimensions of the forme, not to the plain paper size.

What is a forme, and which should I choose?
A forme is the folder's cutting shape, which sets the paper size it takes, its capacity and the shape of its pocket. Each forme is pictured under the Forme option on this page, with the paper size and capacity beneath it. Pick the outline that suits what the folder needs to hold, or tell us and we'll point you to the right one.
How do interlocking folders assemble?
They arrive flat, and the tabs slot into matching cuts to lock the pocket in place. No glue and no tools are needed.
How is this different from a Glued Folder?
The construction. Interlocking folders slot together with tabs, so they can be stored flat and assembled without glue. Glued folders have a permanently bonded pocket. Interlocking folders also come in a DL size and with capacities up to 10mm.
What sizes can I order?
Folders made to take A4, A5 or DL documents, in a choice of 12 forme layouts. Capacity can be none, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm or 10mm.
Which finish should I choose?
Matt lamination gives a soft, fingerprint-resistant feel. Gloss lamination makes colours and images stronger. No lamination leaves a natural surface you can write on. Lamination can go on one side or both.
Can I print the inside too?
Yes. Choose double-sided printing to brand the inside, or single-sided to keep the inside plain.
How long do they take?
Choose Saver (6 working days), Standard (4) or Express (3) when you order. That is production time and doesn't include delivery.
