A foiled swing tag is a small detail that changes how a gift, garment or hamper is received. These are printed in full colour, laminated in matt soft touch and finished with metallic foil on one side, in gold, silver, copper, red or green. Choose a 55mm square or an 85 × 55mm tag, with square or rounded corners, and each one comes drilled with a 6mm hole ready for ribbon or string. A real person checks your artwork before anything is printed.

Use the template for your size from the Templates section on this page; it sets up the pages and marks the 6mm drill hole. The foil comes from its own page in your PDF, built as solid 100% black shapes exactly where the foil should go, with no cyan, magenta or yellow, and supplied as vector. A single-sided tag needs a 2-page PDF: page 1 your CMYK artwork, page 2 the foil. A double-sided tag needs a 4-page PDF: front, back, front foil, then a blank fourth page. Foil registers to roughly ±0.5mm, so keep it off text smaller than 10pt and lines thinner than 1pt, and keep content clear of the hole.

What foil colours are available?
Gold, silver, copper, red and green. The foil is applied to one side of the tag.
What sizes and shapes can I order?
A 55 × 55mm square or an 85 × 55mm tag, each with square or rounded corners. There are landscape and portrait templates for the 85 × 55mm size.
How do I set up the foil artwork?
Put the foil on its own page as solid 100% black shapes, with no other colours, ideally as vector. A single-sided tag is a 2-page PDF (CMYK artwork, then foil); a double-sided tag is a 4-page PDF (front, back, front foil, blank). Our template lays this out.
Can I foil small text or fine lines?
Better not to. Foil has a registration tolerance of about ±0.5mm, so anything below 10pt text or a 1pt line can look slightly off. Keep foil for logos, larger type and bold shapes.
Is the hole pre-drilled?
Yes. A 6mm hole is drilled as standard, ready for ribbon, string or elastic. Keep important content clear of the hole area, which the template marks.
How long do they take?
Choose Saver (7 working days), Standard (5) or Express (3) when you order. That is production time and doesn't include delivery.
