Frequently asked questions

What is aluminium composite material?
Aluminium composite — often known by the brand name DiBond, or as a 'sandwich panel' — is a rigid 3mm signage panel made of two aluminium sheets sandwiching a polyethylene core. It combines the flat, premium face of metal with a fraction of the weight of solid aluminium.
Is DiBond suitable for outdoor signs?
Yes — it's one of the most durable rigid signage materials available and withstands the elements extremely well, which is why it's the standard choice for shopfront signs, site boards and long-term outdoor displays.
What's the largest size available?
Up to 2.44m × 1.22m in a single sheet, square cut as standard. Larger displays can be made up from multiple panels.
Can DiBond be cut to a custom shape?
Yes — panels can be cut to shape for an additional charge. Include your cut line in the artwork, or ask us and we'll help you set it up.
What is anti-graffiti laminate?
An optional protective film applied over the print (at additional charge) that lets graffiti and grime be cleaned off without damaging the graphic underneath — worth considering for signs in public or exposed locations. A standard protective laminate is also available.
Is aluminium composite recyclable?
Yes — the panel is fully recyclable at end of life, making it a sound long-term choice as well as a durable one.
What file format do I need?
A print-ready PDF in CMYK with fonts outlined or embedded works best, with a cut line included if you're ordering a shaped panel. Every order gets a free artwork check by a real person, so if anything needs attention we'll tell you before printing.
